やっと長い長い梅雨が終わった！ ママとパパは僕の大好きな川に連れて行ってくれた。今回はマギーも一緒だ。マギーは生まれて初めて泳ぐんだって。マギーのママは「マギー泳げるかなぁ」って心配してたけど、全然問題なかった。僕が水の中のボールを追いかけると、マギーは僕を追いかけて、水の中にジャボン、あっという間に泳ぎだした、イェ～イ！！ 2人であっちこっち泳いで泳いで、水の中を走った走った。マギー、また一緒に来よう！ 夏は始まったばっかり、太陽はまだまだギラギラ！
Finally the long and long rainy season is over! And because it is no longer raining, Mom and dad took me to my favorite river. They did not see the irony in waiting until things dried out before taking me to a place where I could get wet.
This time was also special because Maggie and her family came with us. This was going to be the first time in Maggie’s life that she had a chance to swim. Her mother was worried that Maggie wouldn’t know how to swim, but once she jumped in, she had no problem at all. When I chased the ball in the water, Maggie chased after me. Once we were in the river, it got a little bit deep, and in a blink of an eye, she started swimming! I think seeing how good a swimmer I am gave Maggie confidence that she could swim too.
The two of us swam here and there ran in the water for several hours. It was fun! I hope Maggie comes with me again soon. After all, summer has just begun and the sun is glaring! For now, every day is a good day to go to the river!
