Spring is here! Spring is here! I love the smell of spring. I love the smells. I love the dirt. In the winter, the soil is hard and doesn’t smell so fun, but in the spring, it is soft, bursting with life and full of smells. I see Mom and Dad in the garden playing with dirt, so I think they like the smell of soil as well. Mom likes to play with the dirt and add colorful smelly flowers. Dad tries to grow like peppers and tomatoes. I like to play in the dirt too. More of a search and destroy kind of play than a grow stuff kind of play.
But aside from the smell, there is also the sun. It is so much warmer than before. Before Mom and Dad didn’t want to spend too much time outside, but now, I am getting some quality garden time and long walks. And Mom and Dad don’t seem to a little bit easier to nudge off of the couch so I can get them to take me for a walk after before bedtime. And now, when I kindly offer my wake up barks at 5:20am, Dad is much quicker to come down the stairs than he was in winter.
僕は春のにおいが大好き！！土のにおいが冬とは違う。冬の間、土は固くて、あまりいいにおいしないけど、春になると、土はほっとした顔をして、甘いにおいを出してくれる。ママとパパも土のにおいが好きなのかな。最近、急に土いじりを始めた。ママは花を植えた。パパはトマトとパプリカを育てるんだって。春になると太陽も冬とは違う。もっと眩しい、それから、皆を暖かくしてくれる。ママとパパは今まで寒い寒いって言って、あんまり外に出なかったけど、春になると僕と一緒に長い時間、外で過ごしてくれる。だから僕は春のにおいがして、太陽がぽかぽかしてきたら、何度もママとパパに外に行こうっておねだりする。
