A Slow Start on a Rainy Morning      雨の朝、ゆっくりスタート

When Dad sits it down on the sofa, I immediately roll over for a belly scratch. He does not seem to be in any rush to go outside . Truth be told, I’m not either. We have been doing this morning routine for years, but usually after a few scratches, he is ready to head outside. Not today. That suits me just fine because I am in no hurry to get off of the sofa. I can hear the rain. I know it is cold outside. My preference is to lounge on the sofa as long as possible. I squirm around on my back until i find a comfortable place on his leg to rest my head. I soon fall back asleep.
